KVA To Amps Calculator

To calculate Amps to Volt-Amps Single phase, use the following formula:

The current I in amps (A) is equal to 1000 times the apparent power S in volt-amps (VA) divided by the voltage V in volt (V).

To calculate Amps to Volt-Amps Three phase line to line voltage, use the following formula:

The current I in amps(A) is equal to 1000 times the apparent power S in volt-amps (VA) divided by √3 times the line to line voltage V in volt (V)

To calculate Amps to Volt-Amps Three phase line to neutral voltage, use the following formula:

The current I in amps(A) is equal to 1000 times the apparent power S in volt-amps (VA) divided by 3 times the line to line voltage V in volt (V)

KVA to Amps 3 phase L-N Formula

For Example 01

If an single phase Induction motor takes 12KVA power and voltage 230V at 0.99 (lag) power factor from the AC source and runing time 6 hours. Calculate the current of the motor.

Answer

Where,
S = 12KVA ,V = 230 , Pf = 0.99,T = 6 hours

We Know
I (A) = 1000 x S(KVA) ÷ V(V)
I (A) = 1000 x 12 ÷ 230
I (A) = 52.17
I = 52.17 A

For Example 02

If an three phase Induction motor takes 15KVA power and line to line voltage 380V at 0.99 (lag) power factor from the AC source and runing time 6 hours. Calculate the current of the motor.

Answer

Where,
S = 15KVA ,V = 380 , Pf = 0.99,T = 6 hours

We Know
I (A) = 1000 x S(VA) ÷ √3 x V(V)
I (A) = 1000 x 15 ÷ √3 x 380
I (A) = 22.79
I = 22.79 A

For Example 02

If an three phase Induction motor takes 25KVA power and line to neutral voltage 380V at 0.99 (lag) power factor from the AC source and runing time 6 hours. Calculate the current of the motor.

Answer

Where,
S = 25KVA ,V = 380 V , Pf = 0.99,T = 6 hours

We Know
I (A) = 1000 x S(VA) ÷ V(V)
I (A) = 1000 X 25 ÷ 380
I (A) = 21.93
I = 21.93 A
