Volts To Watts Calculator

To calculate volts to Watts DC circuit, use the following formula:

In DC circuits,Power (P) in watts is equal to the DC (Dircet current) voltage (V) times the current (I) in amps.

volts to watts dc formula

To calculate volts to Watts single phase, use the following formula:

In AC circuits single phase,Real Power (P) in watts is equal to the RMS voltage (V) times the current (I) in amps times the power factor (pf)

volts to watts single phase formula

To calculate voltage to Watts Three phase, use the following formula:

In AC circuits three phase,Real Power (P) in watts is equal to √3 times the RMS voltage (V) times the current (I) in amps times the power factor (pf)

volts to watts 3 phase formula

For Example 01

If an DC motor takes 12amp and voltage 230V . Calculate the watts of the motor.

Answer

Where,
I= 12amps ,V = 230v

We Know
P (W) = V(V) x I(A)
P(W) = 230 x 12
P (W) = 2760
P = 2760 W

For Example 02

If an single phase Induction motor takes 15A and voltage 380V at 0.99 (lag) power factor from the AC source and runing time 6 hours. Calculate the real power of the motor.

Answer

Where,
I= 15amps ,V = 380v ,pf=.99

We Know
P (W) = V(V) x I(A) x pf
P(W) = 380 x 15 x 0.99
P (W) = 5643
P = 5643 W

For Example 03

If an three phase Induction motor takes 25A and lone to line voltage 400V at 0.94 (lag) power factor from the AC source and runing time 6 hours. Calculate the real power (w) of the motor.

Answer

Where,
I= 25amps ,V = 400v ,pf=0.94

We Know
P (W) = √3 x V(V) x I(A) x pf
P(W) = √3 x 400 x 25 x 0.94
P (W) = 16281.278
P = 16281.278 W
