We Know

S _{(KVA) } = 100 ÷ 1000 x 0.95

S _{(KVA) } = 0.105

KVA = 0.105

If an Induction motor takes 5000W active power at 0.85 (lag) power factor from the AC source. Calculate the KVA rating of the motor.

__Answer__

Where,

Active power P = 5000W , Pf = 0.85

We Know

S _{ (KVA) } = P_{w } ÷ 1000 x Pf

S _{(KVA) } = 5000 ÷ 1000 x 0.85

S _{(KVA) } = 5.88

KVA = 5.88
